Location Recce, Shot List & Risk Assessment

Risks - The Kitchen is a full of dangerous items like knives therefore there are going to be lots of risks in this room. There could also be slips and trips because the floor is hard and the kitchen contains oils and other liquids.
Solutions - To make sure that when filming we are safe, I am going to move all dangerous items out of this room to prevent any accidents. To prevent slips and trips I will make sure anyone in the kitchen wears suitable footwear with plenty of grip.
Kitchen (Mine)
I will be filming in this room as it will give me the more realistic feeling in my final film. I will be filming a few scenes in here which will include me lying on the floor and crawling around. I intent to put a grainy black and white tint on the film and I think this rom would also suit the filter quite well as it is a light room.
Shots - I am going to take some interesting and quite difficult shots in this room as I want to get a shot of me on the floor requiring a low angle close up shot of me crawling. I will mainly use Medium shots panning across the room to keep the sadness clear to the audience.

Dining Room (Mine)
I will also be filming a few scenes in this room with me sat at the table daydreaming, This room is quite dark and will show up in depressing and sad scenes. I am also thinking about lying on the table looking up.
Risks - The Dining Room does not have as many risks at all as all that it contains is a table, six chairs, a box and a CD rack full of CD's. The only risk that I can think of is falling over and hitting their head off the corner of the table or cables being left out causing a trip.
Solutions - To make sure all risks are avoided I will ensure that all cables are kept tidy and tucked away. This room is very safe and the only other potentially dangerous is the plug sockets in the walls but I will warn the people filming with me not to touch them.
Shots - For this room I will be using shots like a birds eye view of me lying on the table, also a close up shot of me sat at the dining table daydreaming, these shots are intended to create a more mysterious atmosphere and add an element of sadness to the scene.

Bedroom (Mine)
I will film myself strumming a guitar while the song is playing in the background, I will also open the blinds and squint in this room. This room can be quite dark but when the blinds are open it becomes very light.
Risks - My bedroom has many items that can be risks but that is part of my set design because the room is meant to be untidy and messy as it shows the lack of care my character has due to his depression. There are items in there that could be seen as weapons like a metal baseball bat and darts.
Solutions - To avoid any casualties whilst filming in this room I will make sure that no one else except me goes in my room unless I have told them where to go and what to do. I can not change my bedroom as it is perfect for my film untidy.
Shots - I want to get a Dutch tilt shot of me jumping onto my bed violently. This is meant to symbolise my feeling of deep sorrow and my craving of just lying in my bed and being depressed. I also want the camera to pan across half of my room whilst I run in and then jump on my bed.

Risks - The kitchen at my Grandad's house is similar to the kitchen at my house because again there are plenty of items like knives. There is also a hob and oven which could potentially be dangerous and harmful. There are also a few plugs which are not being used but like I said previously this is easy to manage as most people will not just stick a knife in a plug.
Solutions - Again like my kitchen I will remove any objects from the kitchen that are deemed harmful or potentially dangerous apart from the items that I will need for my film. The oven is a danger but I will warn the people that I work with about the risks of being around an oven and hob and to stay away from them and not mess around.
Kitchen (Grandad's)
I will film myself making a cup of tea for three and one cup disappears. This room is also very light and will give me the effect that I am trying to create as the surface is already grey and the walls are dull. I will also do a shot of me taking things out of the cupboards with the camera inside the cupboards. This will create a very saddening atmosphere as well because I will look sadder and sadder in each shot.
Shots - The shot that I would like to capture in this kitchen is, as I said in my location recce, a close up shot from inside the cupboard with me opening the door and taking the tea bags out and closing it again. Another shot will be a low angle shot of me moving across the kitchen to the fridge to get the milk.

Risks - There are very few risks in this room because it is a very simplistic room which just four chairs, two coffee tables and a lamp. The only risky thing in this room is the glass slide door which I walked into when I was seven, there is a rail on which the door sits on which is easy to trip on.
Solutions - The rail for the glass slide door is the only real risk and that is easily sorted as I can notify my camera man about it so that he does not trip. There is a fire exit door which can be easily accessed in the room.
Conservatory (Grandad's)
I will be filming a scene in this room where I am watching the birds fly around in the garden as the view from the conservatory is perfect for that. One problem I may encounter is that being a conservatory it is a very light room and this could lead to the room looking to bright and cheery; if this happens I can always add a darker tone in Final Cut Pro.
Shots - This room will have only one scene as it is so light and I am trying to keep the sad and depressing atmosphere. The shots that I want are a medium shot of my Grandad taking a sip of some whisky demonstrating how hard life has become. The other shot that I would like is a close up of another glass of whisky and it being picked up and put back down having been drank.

Bedroom (Grandad's)
I will film a scene in this room as it holds a lot of memories for me when I used to stay over. I can make an emotional scene in here because I always feel sad when Im in there. This room is also very light because of the Magnolia walls. I will be filmed lying on the bed and sitting up reading my old journals my Grandma and I used to do.
Risks - Again this room has no risks and is really safe as it was designed by my grandparents to be a child's bedroom. The only thing that could potentially be dangerous is the chest that sits against my bed which does have sharp edges.
Solutions - It is very unlikely that this will be a danger as this chest is pushed against the wall and is very low down. I will warn my camera man that it is there and the edges are sharp but it is in another part of the room where I am not filming so it won't be a problem.
Shots - I would like a shot of me sitting on the bed looking down at the floor. The shot itself will be a close up shot of the bed but with me blurred out but clearly visible in the background.

Risks - The bathroom is full of items that could potentially be dangerous but I can extract all of them as I keep everything on the white rack seen in the picture. The cameraman will be filming from inside the shower and the floor could be slippy.
Bathroom (mine)
I will be filming in here because I think that this room will give me the effect that I am looking for, the room is very small and could be difficult to film in but I think that if I am filmed from the corner of the room I will be able to pull it off.
Solutions - The floor in the actual bathroom is gripped so it will be hard to slip on but when the cameraman is in the shower I will make sure that the floor is dry and that he wears shoes with suitable grip. There is a toilet and sink which contain water but they are a safe amount to not drown in.
Shots - The shot that I want in this room is a low angle shot of me washing my face and leaning on the sink from. This will be filmed from the corner of the room or the shower to portray the intense feeling of being overpowered and pushed down.

Risks - Filming on a road will have many risks like cars driving and buses speeding. This is a concern that is a very real danger and could result in a fatal injury.
Solutions - The way that I will tackle this hazard is to keep my cameraman off the road and have another person with us who can tell the cameraman when there is a car or bus coming. This is risky but needed to give my film the full effect that I desire.
My road
I will be filmed walking towards my house very slowly listening to music. This will create a saddening atmosphere because I will have a saddened face on and will be looking at the floor with my head bowed whilst walking.
Shots - I will be using an over the shoulder shot in this scene whilst I am walking towards the house as I said in the previous paragraph, this shot is to show the gloominess and depressive mood, especially from the bowed head position that I will do.

My Grandads road
I will do the same as my road where I am walking towards the house with a sad look and a bowed head. I will be filmed from the front and back as I am going to use a shot of my back whilst walking towards both houses.
Risks - Again when filming on this road there will be the risk of traffic. However, Kennerley Road is a cul-de-sac and therefore has a very small amount of traffic travelling down the road. The only cars that come down here are the residents and their visitors.
Solutions - This means that traffic is not as big as an issue as when filming down my road, yet there still is a risk. The solution to this is like I said in the previous paragraph about my road, to have a designated person who watches out for traffic and notifies us when a car is coming.
Shots - I will be creating the same shot of my back walking towards the house with my head bowed as I said in the Location Recce, this will add to the sad atmosphere that will be creating.
