These YouTube comments have helped me to understand how an audience of similar age to my ow would react to an empathetic short film. Most of the comments are very understanding and heartfelt which is exactly the reaction that I am hoping for. The short film that I used is also a true story which in my opinion makes the audience all that more empathetic towards the story. One of my concerns was that my audience would mock my short film and not take it seriously, but from the research I have gathered in YouTube it appears that it is not likely going to be the case.

Short Film
I used this short film as my second Qualitative piece of secondary research. It has helped me to see what properties of the short film are affective to use to get an emotional response from the audience and why it triggers an emotive response. This short film shares a similar meaning to mine. I am going to use some camera angles and lighting ideas to progress my short film and make it more effective in its purpose. This film did make my cry and from the look at the comments it also touched quite a few other viewers, even the ones that haven't been struck by grief.
Statistics
This piece of research is very useful because it has the opinions of the online critics who have rated and reviewed loads of films, therefore they will have a lot more experience in what makes a good film. The online critics also have had thorough training on how to successfully and fairly rate these films. This is probably the most reliable piece of research for the reason I previously stated.
